Be Blessed And Be A Blessing To All People Groups
What We Believe
We believe that spreading the good news to all people groups is in the center of God’s heart. We believe in the covenant that God made to Abraham to be blessed and to be a blessing to all nations is a covenant made to us that does not change with time or culture. We believe that everyone is called to be involved in cross-cultural missions in one way or another.
To see God glorified in every language, people and nation
Our Mission Statement
To serve as God leads us in the task of cross-culturally reaching out to the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
What is Missions?
Missions is reaching out cross-culturally with the purpose of making the Gospel heard. Evangelism is outreach within the same culture. We feel that both missions and evangelism are ordinary, integral parts of the Christian life. There are many ways to become involved in missions. Just as not everyone is called to be a pastor, not everyone is called to go to a mission field. Other ways we can get involved include praying, supporting, mobilizing & participating in cross-cultural ministries. The most important thing is to do what God has called you to do.
Prayer is an integral part of our committee. We pray for:
•Unreached People groups
•Our church body and leadership
Our prayer meeting is open to anyone who has the heart to pray for missions and missionaries.
Education and Awareness
We sponsor classes such as Destination 2000 and Vision for the Nations in order to bring a greater awareness of what missions really is and how we can participate. For the same reasons, we also host speaking engagements for missionaries, support attendance at mission conferences and maintain a missions bulletin board. Our desire is that each person find their place in God’s mission plan.
We support and participate in cross-cultural outreach ministries. This type of ministry can occur locally or overseas. Short-term missions is an example of overseas cross-cultural ministry. While these ministries may involve construction, disaster relief, community development, teaching or other activities to bless others, we feel the ultimate blessing we can share is the Gospel. Without the Gospel component, we feel these activities are good works but are not missions per se.
We support missionaries financially as well as by praying for them, sending care packages, encouraging them through regular communication and visiting them. We emphasize support of missionaries that are working to reach the unreached people groups that don’t already have self-sustaining churches established. Many of these people groups are in the so-called “10/40” window.
I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you … and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.
— Genesis 12:2-3
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
The Lord will write in the register of the peoples: “This one was born in Zion”.
— Psalm 87:6
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
— Matthew 24:14
… and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
— Revelation 5:9
